Plan Around St. Louis Events

There’s no question: Individuals looking for great venues in which to hold their St. Louis events have no shortage of attractive facilities. The St. Louis region is one that is known for a great deal of unique character, historic businesses and colorful nightlife.

But what makes Gateway Center so different from other conference and event centers in the St. Louis regionis the rustic nature of the community surrounding it. Just minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city, Gateway Center is close enough that visitors can take in the attractions and events in St. Louis if they choose, but far enough outside the city proper that they don’t have to deal with the traffic if they choose not to.

Organizations planning events in St. Louis and the surrounding communities have an interesting and enviable choice: Plan special events to coincide with other events or to take advantage of the crowds they attract. Depending on what type of event you are planning and what kinds of visitors you expect, you may wish to plan your own event for the same or different timeframes from the following popular annual events:

  • First Night – a celebration of the New Year through performance and visual arts, this is one of the most colorful St. Louis events
  • Shakespeare in the Park – free performances of the Bard’s most famous plays in Forest Park, one of the country’s largest municipal parks; May-June
  • Fair St. Louis – concerts, local cuisine, a colorful parade, and of course, the world-famous fireworks show, all in the shadow of the Gateway Arch
  • Soulard Bastille Days – unique street fair, bicycle race, food and wine, all in celebration of St. Louis’ French heritage
