Part-time Facility Worker

Part-time, Non-Exempt
DESCRIPTION:
The Facility Worker is required to perform a full range
of custodial and maintenance duties. Some duties are performed
while the Convention Center is in full operation or during
a changeover situation. Employee must cooperate with supervisor
and co-workers. Part-time Facility Worker’s immediate
supervisor is the Facility Supervisor or Full-Time Facility
Worker if the Supervisor is not present.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
- Insure proper storage and handling of all Gateway Center equipment
- Sweep, dust and wet mop floors
- Operate a minimum of cleaning equipment
- Clean restroom walls, floors, tiles, fixtures and replenish supplies as needed
- Remove trash and garbage from receptacles and keep receptacles clean and odor-free
- Clean, set up and remove chairs, tables, risers, “poles and drapes,” staging and related equipment
- Take responsibility for communicating with supervisor for weekly scheduled work hours and absenteeism
- Adhere to all safety/facility procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to follow direction of immediate supervisor
- Person should be in good physical health
- Considerable ability to lift, move and control heavy objects and equipment
- Must be pleasant and courteous to clients and patrons using the Center facilities
- Working knowledge of general housekeeping and cleaning techniques, desired but not required
- Flexible schedule
- Practice good personal hygiene
