Letter From Our Executive Director - May 11, 2020

Heading

May 11, 2020

The spread of COVID-19 has initiated a period of unprecedented uncertainty in our industry. The health and safety of our valued employees, clients and guests continues to be our top priority.

On May 5, 2020, Governor JB Pritzker announced Restore Illinois, a five-phase plan focused on saving lives, livelihood, and safely reopening Illinois.  A phased approach to reopening guided by Federal, State, Health and Local Officials, will determine recommendations for hosting events at Gateway Convention Center (GCC). As COVID-19 recommendations and requirements are modified, GCC will make the necessary updates to its protocols and requirements.

At this time, due to the Shelter in Place Order, GCC is closed to external visitors until May 30, 2020.  Due to the restrictions on public gatherings and appropriate social distancing guidelines, events impacted by government orders have been postponed or cancelled.

We are looking forward to having our clients and guests back in our venue. Our team is committed to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness throughout our facility. In light of the dramatic changes to public health guidance due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have updated and enhanced many of our cleaning and safety protocols to help ensure the safety of everyone who walks through our doors.

Our thoughts are with the individuals affected by COVID-19, and everyone working around the clock to help those in need. I am convinced now more than ever that we have the resilience, the grit and the resourcefulness to get through this together.

Sincerely,

Cindy Warke
