Drive-In to Enjoy Live Music & a Movie Under the Stars This Saturday 

Collinsville, IL – With one successful Gateway Drive-In Movie Night event under their belts, the City of Collinsville’s Parks &Recreation Department and the Gateway Convention Center are ready to welcome people again into the rear parking lot at Gateway Convention Center this Saturday, July 18 for a Gateway Drive-In Movie Night. 

“We were very pleased with the turn out this past Saturday. It was a fantastic first-time event for the City of Collinsville.” said Cheryl Riley Superintendent of Recreation for the City of Collinsville’s Park & Recreation Department. “Our second drive-in event is this Saturday,July 18. Guests will see the live band Straight 6 perform at 7:00 PM and the movie Secret Life of Pets 2 at dusk. No cash is accepted. Debit or Credit cards only. Families can bring in their own treats or they can purchase concessions at the movie.” 

Across the street from Gateway Convention Center is the Collinsville Aqua Park. The Aqua Park is operating at 50% of capacity due to COVID-19 limitations.Families looking for fun things to do this weekend can play in the water during the day at the Collinsville Aqua Park and during the evening hang out under the stars for live music and a movie at the Gateway Drive-In Movie Night in the Gateway Convention Center’s parking lot.  With all the hotels and restaurants located in the Eastport Plaza area in Collinsville, people could even decide to make it into a spontaneous summer staycation.  

Bathrooms will be available on-site.Guests will be required to wear facial coverings while in the building as well as any time that 6’ of physical distance cannot be maintained. Guests may bring lawn chairs to sit outside their cars. Families are welcome to bring their own food and beverages. Registration is $20.00 per car in advance online, or $30.00 per car on the day of the event.  Admission includes access to both the band and the movie. Advanced tickets are encouraged. Parking will be based on a first come, first serve basis with entry beginning at 6:00pm.
